For 42 minutes of this game the only winner was the home side. They controlled possession and led by two simple goals, with Wallingford looking totally out-of-sorts. however, a quick double before half-time gave the visitors a huge lift and a brilliant second half display secured the win.
With minutes gone, Garry Clark had to make a good save with his legs after Wallingford gave ex-player Jamie Newport too much space in the box. The visitors continued to look shaky at the back and when Paddy Malone centred the ball on 15 minutes, Vince Rusher was given plenty of time to pick his shot, and although Garry Clarke got a touch to the ball, he could not prevent it from creeping into the bottom corner. Wallingford struggled to retain any significant possession, and on 38 minutes Milton capitalised on a stray pass and Rusher found space in the box again to fire the ball low into the bottom corner from a tight angle. It all looked too easy for Milton, who looked like ending a run of 3 games without a win. However, on 43 minutes the game turned on its head. Tom Ingram found Abdouli Taha in space on the left and his cross found Foday Touray who turned and shot low into the corner with a sweet left-foot finish. Touray was then involved again less than two minutes later when his dummy from Fletcher Hoey’s pass fed Zinzee Taha on the edge of the area. The pacy striker turned a defender and struck a brilliant low left-foot shot just inside the post past Walker's dive to make it 2-2. Wallingford continued their resurgence in the second half, looking a completely different team from earlier, barely giving the home side a second on the ball and surging forward at every opportunity. The superb Foday Touray almost scored from 40 yards when he turned a player and tried to chip the keeper but the ball curled wide. 8 minutes later Andrew Styles gave Wallingford the lead when he surged forward to latch onto a loose header and drove the ball goalwards. The ball took a deflection and wrong footed the keeper to skid low into the net. Wallingford were well on top, but Milton had a couple of chances to get back into the game. Central defenders Fenn and Ingram got into a tangle, allowing Malone a clear shot at goal, but he drove the ball wide with just Clark to beat. Defender Martin Fox then headed wide from a cross from the right, but the visitors always looked like adding the scoreline on the break. Abdouli Taha won the ball off a defender and surged forward, wriggling past another player and blasting the ball goalwards from the left-hand corner of the penalty area. Walker could not keep hold of his powerful drive and Zinzee Taha had an easy tap-in to make it 4-2. Rusher thought he had completed his hatrick and pulled a goal back in the 85th minute, but his perfectly struck free-kick flew straight into the net when in fact the referee had awarded an indirect free-kick and his strike did not count.
