AFC Wallingford claimed their first win of pre-season after coming back from a goal down to win 5-2
PICTURE: (Tarome Hemmings breaks away against Milton Today) Goals from Grant, Duncan, Baker, Hemmings and Henry and an excellent second half performance helped AFC Wallingford see of Milton Uniteds Reserves this afternoon. Milton started a litlle quicker than Wallingfords young side who found it hard to cope with Miltons direct aggresive play during the early periods and when Josh Springer miss-judged a header his striker broke on to the loose ball and lifted it over Eggleton to make it 1-0 to the home side. Wallingford were just finding their way into the game when a quick break saw the impressive new signing Ian Henry find Bradley Grant who finished well. Wallingford then made a few changes and this seemed to give them a little more balance and they began to control the game and create chances and from a quick corner by Ross Baker and Henry, Craig duncan poked home. Wally had not played as well as they would have liked in the first half and this seemed to have an effect in the second half as they scored 2 in the first 10 minutes of the second half. Aaron davies, who impressed at right back again, delivered and excellent cross that found Baker at the back post who side footed home and when Baker released Hemmings it was 4-1. Hemmings raced through to lift the ball over his and the centre halfs head and calmly side foot the ball home on the volley. Milton added a second when Eggleton misjusged a free kick and the striker headed into an empty net but the lively and impressive Henry added the fifth after carefully guiding in Bakers corner at the far post. A pleasing afternoon and its great for the boys to get their first win under their belts. A good team performance and some excellent individual performances. Match Squad: 1. Jorden Eggleton 2.
