Wallingford have added an exciting new friendly to their pre-season programme against an english based Nepalese team called Nepal United
Nepal United was established in June, 2010 by Tamu Dhee UK to promote the best and most talented Nepalese football players residing in the UK. The players have been selected from the teams that participate in annually held summer 9-a-side tournaments. The current squad of players consist of two ex-Nepal National Team Players, two players who have represented Nepal at U’19 and U’23 level, three players who were on the books of Aldershot Town and many others currently playing non-league football in the UK. The team is managed by Bal Krishna Gurung, assisting him is Kushan Gurung and Gary Clifford completes the staff as head coach.
The team are currently playing a number of friendly fixtures in preparation for a prestigious friendly against an Aldershot Town XI on the 15th August. In January the squad will fly out to Nepal to compete in the annual Aaha Gold Cup Tournament where they will play in front of 15,000 spectators against Teams who play in Nepal’s highest league.
Nepal United will visit the Hithercroft on Thusday 12th August, the game will kick off at 19:30.
