With the 2009-2010 season now complete AFC Wallingford look forward to next season

AFC Wallingford have taken huge strides this season both on and off the pitch and are busy planning and preparing the club for the 2010-11 Season.

With the clubs performances both on the pitch and off the pitch improving this season the next couple of months will be vital if Wallingford want to continue this progression next season.

With Gerry O'Garr stepping down from his role of Chairman after many years overseeing nearly all aspects of the club, the new managment team and playing staff and with their finances in a much healthier position than at the start of the campaign club secretary Richard May sees only a bright future for the club.

He said "Gerry has done a great job here and has put in soo much hard work to keep this club going. It is sad to see him step down from his role but i am pleased he will still be around to help out here and there. Financially the club is now alot more stable and in a position to start planning for the future. Along with this the new management team and players for the 2009-10 season have done a fantastic job and although im sure Tristan and Butch will be dissappointed with how the League Season ended it is much improved on the last few years. I am looking forward to next year now!"

Groundsman Iain Darby is working hard to get the pitch ready for next season after what had been a tough season on the pitch and feels the pitch will be in much better condition than last. "We've been able to source some excellent resources to help improve the pitch that we were not able to do last year. With a bit of hard work and alot of TLC it should be in a much better position to start next season"

Wallingford will also need to strengthen the team for next season if they wish to progress and are already in talks with players who the club wish to have here next season and as with any club it is likely that some players will be moving on.

Look out for all the latest pre-season updates here!!
