Jed Prout who was Wallingford Town Coach in the 1960's sadly died suddenly on 23rd March 2010.
Jed was a PTO (Physical Training Officer) at RAF Benson who was approached by then Wallingford Town manager Bert Butcher (Picture - Suited far Left) to help with the fitness and coaching of the players.
After Jed agreed to take up the role Bert Butcher stated "I have found a bloody good man!" This was proved correct as he helped Wallingford to cup and league success during his time at the club building a reputation for being very hard but fair and building a good rapport with his players.
Jed thouroughly enjoyed his time at the club and still kept up to date with Wallingfords progress right up to the current 09/10 season. Even after he left the club Jed and his wife Bet remained good friends with Bert and Joyce Butcher (Grandparents of Current Player/Assistant Michael Butcher)
