We take a break from league action this week with the trip to Buckingham Town of the United Counties Football League Division One, kick off is 3pm. They currently sit 5th in their division and their league is a step up from us, so we know that this will be a tough fixture for us.
The break from league action is a timely one after last weeks dissapointing first league defeat of the season. Saxton trounced us 4-0, but in all honesty the score could have been 8-2! We cannot take anything away from Saxton as they are the best team that we have played this season and we expect them to be challenging for the North Berks title but what we can't accept is the way in which we capitulated in the second half with many of our players throwing in the towel. Most of the lads trained last night and Chaz put us through the paces with a fairly tough session that we all needed and I am sure that we will put in a more competitve performance this Saturday. The squad is strengthened this week with the return of Prim & Lee Edmonds from holiday and Eyresy from injury, however we are missing Sam Elkins who will be at his Dad's wedding (all the best Gaz!). The players are going via a minibus, leaving The Hithercroft at 12.30pm and it would be good to see some of our loyal supporters follow us up to Buckinghamshire.
