Saturday 9th August - Festival Cup v Didcot Casuals (H)
Friday, 08 August 2008
This Saturday we play our second festival cup fixture with the visit of Didcot Casuals to The Hithercroft. Casuals have just been promoted into North Berks Division 2 for this coming season. A win for us will pretty much guarantee progress into the quarter finals prior to our final group fixture away at Drayton on Tuesday.Bonzo returned from his holiday to Sri Lanka Thursday morning to see the lads play last night in the Robin Antonowicz Memorial game against Oxford City. Both teams took the opportunity to assess a number of young players in their squads and it also gave us an opportunity to give some valuable game time to some players. The strength in depth of City's squad was there for all to see and they comfortably ran out 4-0 winners. The experience was valuable to all our young players involved as we look to rebuild the club from youth level through to the first team. There are a few players that are unavailable this Saturday but it has still been difficult for Bonzo to reduce the squad down to the allowed 16 which can only be a good thing for the club. Saturday’s squad is as follows -
