This Thursday we entertain Oxford City in a friendly for the Robin Antonowicz memorial match. The game personally means a lot to me as I played in the same Crowmarsh team which followed onto AFC Walliingford between the age of 10 up until my early twenties. Robin was a great friend and excellent player and we all still miss him greatly.
Tuesday night's 4-0 win against East Hendred in the festival cup was a pleasing result and stands us in good stead for the tournament ahead. Me being the ever perfectionist was not 100% happy with the performance, particularly in the first half when we were all guilty of giving the ball away needlessly on a number of occasions (the torrential rain did not help!). Still we were more comfortable in the 2nd half and kept the ball much better.
We know that we will face stiffer competiton whatever side Oxford City bring to "The Croft". We hope to take advantage of having a look at some of the new youngsters that have joined the club and hopefully play two sides across the course of the game with a mix of youth and experience in both sides. The squad for the game is as follows -
Chris Allum
Niall Best
Paolo Di Pasquale
Craig Duncan
Richard Eyres
Matt Finch
Carl Fisher
Andrew Gibbons
Robert Green
Johnny Hammond
Tom Hammond
Anthony Hill
Nathan Hill
Huw Howell-Pryce
Matty Leach
Charlie Littledale
Gary Mandizha
Joe Mitchell
Callum Oakey
John Shea
Adam Summers
Steve Wood
Danny Woods
Kick off is 7.45pm and hope to see all our loyal supporters in attendance to celebrate the life of Robin Antonowicz.
