Former AFC Wallingford stalwart Mark (Oscar) Hoskins has been shot at by the French army. It is rumoured that French President Nicholas Sarkozy has ordered a major offensive against foreign footballers after his country's pathetic showing in Euro 2008. Hoskins, 85, is believed by French Intelligence to be the likely successor to David Beckham as style icon and religious guru of the mighty England side.
French paratroopers launched a daring attack at a major tractor pulling championships near the historic motorway services of Carcassonne. In a display of shooting reminiscent of Hoskins AFCW career, the French troops managed to wound 17 of their own countrymen, four of them seriously while the wily old codger remained virtually unscathed. Hoskins, meanwhile, injured a knee in a separate incident while making a quick exit from the Beaujolais Nouveau tasting competition.
Our sympathy goes out to Veronica, Thomas and Edward. Through no fault of their own, Oscar's long suffering family still have to look after the big ginger buffoon.
