Please accept my apologies for the inconvenience and distress caused when the AFC Wallingford floodlights were left on overnight last Monday 10th March.
The club has already reviewed its procedures to ensure this doesn’t happen again. New reminder notices have been posted in the changing rooms and ground, and arrangements have been made to install an automatic cut-out device to ensure that the lights cannot remain on overnight in the future.
The Sports Park management has overall responsibility for the site and I am sure they will be reviewing their own procedures regarding all lights at the sports park in due course. We have installed new notices behind the bar of the social club to remind sports park staff of the existing procedure should the football club lights be left on longer than necessary.
The Thame United youth team was using the pitch on Monday night, and I have been asked to pass on the heartfelt apologies of the team manager and his assistants for the upset caused.

Chairman - AFC Wallingford
