AFC worked hard throughout but were beaten by a blistering spell late in the first half when the home side netted four times.
The visitors held their own for 20 minutes against the in-form Badshot Lea. Harriot and Weston both tested keeper Rapley. The home side always looked dangerous during this period with the pace of Blake up front always threatening to unlock the defence.
Lea finally broke through after 25 minutes when poor defending allowed Payne a free header at the far post to convert a corner. The home side upped the pace even more. Blake ran riot and three more goals were added before the half time break allowed AFC to regroup.
The second half was a more controlled affair. It took a superbly curled free kick from Griffiths for the home side's fifth. Moments later Griffiths hammered a 30 yard volley against the bar.
Wallingford finally beat the defence late on, when Harriot broke through and calmly beat the keeper.
