NEWS HAPPY NEW YEAR
RESPECT - Clubs will have noticed an increase in games in lower divisions due to unavailability of referees. This is not a problem unique to North Berks League, in fact we are better off than most "grass roots" leagues by a long way. However we have our own problems and have lost several good referees locally due to the attitude of some club players and officials. RESPECT is coming to North Berks League. Respect them or lose them! The choice is yours? Results for Saturday 3rd January 2009 now in. Tables and cups now also updated. Press report now also updated. Fixtures to 24th January 2009 now on the site. These may be subject to change due to club commitments so please refer to club secretaries for confirmation.
Regional Club meeting now arranged as follows:
Sutton Courtenay Football Club NBFL AGM confirmed as Tuesday 30th June 2009 at Hanney RBL. A referees' course for this area is next planned for March 2009. Please click here for details. All those interested who will benefit from the RESPECT program are invited to apply for the next course in this area via the Berks & Bucks web site. Registered player list to 24/12/08 now available. Leading scorers to up to and including 20/12/08 . Our annual representative team v Reading league was postponed on 25th November. Re-arrangement details will follow later. Click here for details. Please note that team photographs taken at the featured game, by our photographer and reporter, Andy Wells, will be inserted into the appropriate club page. We are still looking for write ups by most clubs for the centenary section. Thanks to those who have already contributed. A new section to celebrate the league centenary has now been added to the site. Contributions from any other clubs, even those not now in North Berks League, are welcomed. Thanks to Mike Panting's investigative work we now have 1988/89 league tables and a few more blanks in finals filled, including the inaugural play off table for season 1909/10. Most clubs are actively seeking to improve facilities and the North Berks Football League have a set out mandatory minimum ground criteria for all its clubs. This is EFFECTIVE THIS SEASON 2008-09 and clubs should be aware that ground inspections will be carried out. Any club looking for funding to help their own efforts may find the following FA link useful: http://www.thefa.com/GrassrootsNew/Funding/FindingFunding.htm Remember club adverts page for details of club requirements. Go Information on the North Berks League is still required. Can anyone help fill in the gaps in the history section of this site? |
